This document describes the ENGAGE Gateway BLE Tamper annunciation.

Gateway BLE Tamper Annunciation

Commissioning and configuration of an ENGAGE Gateway can be performed over BLE using an application on a mobile device. While such a mobile device connection is made and the ENGAGE Gateway is operating in RSI mode, the ENGAGE Gateway will set the RSD Tamper bit in all status messages. Please refer to the latest AD-series RSI Serial RS-485 Protocol Specifications document for specific messaging details and relevant byte/bit indication.

The annunciation of the RSD Tamper bit in all status messages by an ENGAGE Gateway should not be viewed in the traditional sense (i.e. that the panel door has been opened) as the Gateway possesses no user means of opening. Instead, this indication should be regarded as the following: a BLE connection has been established with the potential for altering the configuration of the Gateway from its previously known state.

It should be further noted that any BLE connection to the Gateway (such as a BLE scanner that performs direct connection for further discovery) will be treated as an active connection and the RSD Tamper bit will be set. The bit will be cleared once communication has ended.
