No Tour Information

Background

In multi-family residential properties, the term “non-touring” refers to the capability of the system such that the property manager does not have to physically visit (“tour”) the lock, in order to perform most of the administrative actions such as:

The non-touring feature is supported in offline products. This module exists to accomplish the non-touring feature.

The cardholder’s smartcard is programmed by the property manager and it is the cardholder who carries the programmed card with the commands to the lock. No Tour should be used when the architecture is described as “offline” or not actively communicating with a host. It is the responsibility of the SAM to develop a mobile application to connect via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to the ENGAGE device and deliver the payload necessary to set up the device for No Tour operation.

Principles of MT20W Communication

The aptiQ® MT20W multi-technology enrollment reader is designed to simplify the enrollment of smart and multi-technology credentials. The MT20W is powered by a USB cable (via a computer’s USB port or a powered USB plug). The MT20W is capable of communicating through the USB port or WiFi to the host server.

The MT20W connectivity enables SAMs to create a system supporting No Tour with supported devices such as Schlage Control, NDE, LE, etc.

The following typical API interactions are between the MT20W and the host.

POST /api/credentials/scan

This resource is requested by the MT20W each time that a card is presented to the reader.

POST /api/credentials

This resource is requested by the MT20W each time that POST /api/credentials/scan results in an HTTP response of 404.

POST /api/credentials/status

This resource is requested after the MT20W has written No Tour data to a credential.
