Virtual Devices are intended to act as place holders for devices that have yet to be commissioned by an installer. By pre-populating virtual device information, Allegion Software Alliance Members can pre-define device names to be used by their host software. While the current iteration of Virtual Devices only allows for device names to be predetermined, future iterations may include other functionality such as a pre-defined device configuration.
NOTE: If Virtual Devices are used to pre-define device names, the ENGAGE MAPP will not allow the user to modify a device name.
All requests to the Site Administration APIs must be made from a partner managed account type. ENGAGE managed login types cannot access these APIs.
The Virtual Devices APIs section includes the following APIs:
